Notice that curly textures often need fewer bundles than straight ones for the same visual fullness. This is something a lot of first-time buyers don't realize, and it can save real money once you understand it.

The biggest mistake I see isn't undershopping — it's buying based on a photo without accounting for length. A photo showing "3 bundles" at 16 inches will not produce the same fullness at 24 inches. The hair has to stretch further to cover the same area, which thins out the visual density.
"I always tell clients: buy for the length you want, not the bundle count you saw in someone else's photo. Those two things are not the same math."
Another common mistake is skipping the closure or frontal to save money, then being disappointed that the part doesn't look natural. A closure isn't a luxury add-on — for most sew-in styles, it's what makes the install look like it's growing from your scalp instead of sitting on top of it.
