HOW TO REMOVE A GLUED WIG SAFELY WITHOUT DAMAGING HAIR

Removal is just as important as installation. Remove wrong and you'll damage the wig and your hairline.

PART ONE: PREPARATION

What You Need

  • Wig glue remover (lace-specific)
  • Spray bottle
  • Towel
  • Wide-tooth comb

Timing

Remove when you have time. Don't rush. Rushing causes damage.

PART TWO: REMOVAL STEPS

Step 1: Spray Remover

Starting at the hairline, spray wig glue remover along the front edge. Spray generously but don't soak it.

Step 2: Wait

Wait 5-10 minutes. The remover needs time to break down the glue. Rushing causes breakage.

Step 3: Work Around the Perimeter

If it's a full lace or 360 lace, work your way around the sides and back, spraying and waiting at each section.

Step 4: Gentle Lifting

Once the glue is dissolving, gently lift the edge. Don't pull. Just lift slowly and let the remover do the work.

Step 5: Continue Around

Work methodically around your head, gently lifting as you go. If a section sticks, spray more remover and wait.

Step 6: Full Removal

Once all edges are loose, gently lift the entire wig off. Don't yank.

PART THREE: AFTERCARE

1. Wash glue residue off with shampoo 2. Deep condition immediately 3. Let your scalp rest for at least 24 hours before reinstalling
