How to Store Your Wigs Properly

HOW TO STORE YOUR WIGS PROPERLY

Improper storage damages wigs faster than anything. Here's how to store your wigs to keep them looking perfect.

PART ONE: STORAGE SETUP

The Perfect Storage Environment

- Cool temperature (room temperature ideal) - Low humidity (prevents mold) - Away from direct sunlight (prevents color fading) - No heat sources (heating vents, radiators, lamps) - Clean, dust-free space - Away from humidity (bathroom moisture)

PART TWO: STORAGE METHODS

Method 1: Wig Heads (Recommended)

Store each wig on a wig head. This maintains style and prevents tangling. Best long-term storage method.

Method 2: Storage Bags

Use breathable storage bags (not plastic). Breathable material allows air circulation and prevents mold.

Method 3: Shelf Storage

On a shelf on wig heads, arranged by style or color. Keep away from heat and moisture.

PART THREE: WHAT NOT TO DO

- Don't store in plastic bags (traps moisture and causes mold) - Don't store in sunlight (fades color) - Don't store in heat (damages hair) - Don't store while wet (causes mold and mildew) - Don't crush or compress wigs - Don't store with rubber bands pulling hair - Don't store near perfumes or chemicals

BOTTOM LINE

Use wig heads in a cool, dry, dark place away from heat. This is the optimal storage method.
