Invisible Bead Sew-In Pricing: From $55 a Row to $325 a Row
When I first started doing invisible bead sewn-in single rows over 10 years ago, I charged about $55 a row. Today, I charge $275 a row, and up to $325 a row when the install needs extra reinforcement. One of the newer stylists I work with is charging $125 a row right now, and she is booked.
That growth is not unusual. Invisible bead single rows are one of the top five highest revenue hair extension methods, and the per-row pricing model means your income grows directly with your skill. In this guide, I will explain how the method works, why it is priced per row, and how to move from beginner pricing to expert pricing.
PART ONE: What an Invisible Bead Sewn-In Single Row Is
This method gets its name because the beads are hidden. Here is how it works:
- Build the foundation. The stylist pulls small sections of the client's natural hair through a row of small beads and secures them. This creates a foundation right on the natural hair, with no braid underneath.
- Sew a weft underneath. A weft is sewn to the bead row from below.
- Sew a weft on top. A second weft is sewn on top, covering the beads so they disappear.
The result is a flat, lightweight row that moves with the client's hair. There is no bulky braid, no glue, and no heat. That comfort and natural look is a big part of why clients love it.
Why it is priced per row
Every client needs a different number of rows. Someone with fine hair who wants volume might need two rows. Someone wanting length and fullness might need four or five. Pricing per row keeps it fair for the client and makes sure you are paid for every row you build and sew.
PART TWO: How Pricing Grows With Experience
Beginner: around $125 a row
A newer stylist who has been trained properly and has a small portfolio can realistically charge around $125 a row today. At this stage, installs take longer, and you are still building speed and consistency. That is normal.
Intermediate: building toward $200 a row
As you get faster, cleaner, and more confident, your rows lie flatter and your blends look better. Clients start referring friends. This is when you raise your prices in steps.
Expert: $275 to $325 a row
At the expert level, I charge $275 a row. If the install needs extra reinforcement, where I am reinforcing rows with thread for security, I charge up to $325 a row. Reinforcement is extra time and extra skill, and it should be priced that way.
"I started at $55 a row. Nobody hands you expert pricing. You earn it one clean, flat, invisible row at a time."
PART THREE: Maintenance Is Where the Steady Income Is
An invisible bead install lasts about six good months with proper care, but it still needs regular maintenance as the natural hair grows. My maintenance pricing is $100 plus $25 per row.
Think about what that means for your book. A client with four rows pays for the install, then comes back for maintenance on a regular schedule. Each of those visits is $200 in this example, and they come back again and again. Multiply that across a full client list and maintenance becomes the most dependable income you have.
What a maintenance appointment includes
- Moving the beads back up toward the scalp as the hair grows
- Re-securing or re-sewing wefts where needed
- Checking tension and the health of the natural hair
- Washing, blending, and styling
SIDE BY SIDE: Example Pricing by Experience
| Level | Per Row | 4-Row Install |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner | ~$125 | ~$500 |
| Expert | $275 | $1,100 |
| Expert, reinforced | $325 | $1,300 |
| Maintenance | Price |
|---|---|
| Base maintenance | $100 |
| Per row | +$25 |
| 4-row client | $200 per visit |
Examples reflect my pricing and what stylists I work with charge. Your market will vary.
What Moves You Up the Price Ladder
- Invisible results. If you can see the beads, you are not charging expert prices yet.
- Flat, comfortable rows. Clients will pay more for an install they forget they are wearing.
- Hair quality. Wefts that do not shed heavily or tangle make your work last its full six months.
- Great texture and color match. A seamless blend is what earns referrals.
- Proper training. Learning bead tension and sewing technique correctly protects your client's natural hair.
What to Expect When You Add Invisible Bead Rows
| Timeline | What It Looks Like |
|---|---|
| First installs | Slower, focus on clean, flat rows |
| First 6 months | First maintenance clients return |
| After a year | Faster installs, referrals, price increases |
BOTTOM LINE
Invisible bead sewn-in single rows are one of the best revenue builders a stylist can learn. Per-row pricing grows with your skill, from around $125 a row as a beginner to $275 to $325 a row at the expert level, and maintenance at $100 plus $25 per row keeps clients coming back for about six months per install. Get trained correctly, use quality hair, and raise your prices as your work proves itself.
