Understanding Curl Density vs Curl Pattern
Understanding Curl Density vs Curl Pattern
Curl pattern describes the shape of the curl, while density describes how many curls exist within a given area. Two individuals may share the same curl pattern but experience completely different volume due to density differences.
Extensions must account for both. Matching curl pattern alone may still result in installs that appear too thin or too full.
Selecting extensions that complement natural density helps achieve balance. In some cases, adding multiple wefts of a lighter density curl creates better realism than fewer wefts of a dense curl.
Understanding this distinction allows for more intentional installation design.
