Why Raw Hair Tangles Less Than Virgin Hair
Why Raw Hair Tangles Less Than Virgin Hair
Raw hair has one major advantage—cuticle alignment.
Because raw hair is collected from a single donor, the cuticles are all flowing in the same direction. This allows the strands to glide against each other instead of catching and tangling.
Virgin hair, however, comes from multiple donors. This means the cuticles are naturally going in different directions. To correct this, the hair is processed and coated with a faux cuticle.
While this coating helps initially, over time it wears off.
Once the coating wears down, tangling can begin.
