Full Lace Wig Density Guide: Finding Your Perfect Fullness

Density is how thick your wig looks. It's measured as a percentage or described as light, medium, or heavy. After fitting thousands of clients, I can tell you: density choice is personal and depends on your hair goals.

Light Density (80-100%): Wispy appearance, you can see through the wig to the scalp, very natural look, less hair required, less expensive, good for people with naturally thin hair, shows texture beautifully.

Medium Density (130-150%): Balanced look, natural but with body, versatile for most styles, most popular choice, works for most face shapes, great for first-time wig wearers, good texture visibility.

Heavy Density (180%+): Full, voluminous appearance, dramatic styling, completely covers scalp, expensive due to hair volume, can look less natural on some face shapes, great for protective styling, takes longer to dry.

How density affects styling: Light density shows every wave and curl beautifully—great for texture. Heavy density creates volume and drama but can hide texture details. Medium density balances both.

Texture interaction: With straight hair, light density looks very natural. With curly hair, medium to heavy density works better. Coily/kinky hair typically needs medium density minimum.

My recommendation: Start with medium density (130-150%). It's the Goldilocks option—looks natural, gives styling flexibility, doesn't cost premium prices, works for most people.
