Beaded Single Row Extensions: The Fast, Affordable Install Clients Love

When a client tells me, "I want to get something done that is really inexpensive, and I want it fast," I already know what I am going to offer her: beaded single rows. It is one of the fastest hair extension installs out there, and because it takes less time, it costs the client less.

This is not the invisible bead method, where the beads are hidden under a sewn weft. With beaded single rows, the weft is sandwiched right in the middle of the natural hair and held with beads. In this guide, I will explain how it works, who it is for, and how it compares to the invisible bead method.

PART ONE: How Beaded Single Rows Work

The idea is simple: the weft sits in the middle, and the natural hair holds it from above and below.

  1. Part a clean horizontal row and clip the hair above out of the way.
  2. Lay the weft along the part line.
  3. Take a small section of natural hair from over the top of the weft and a small section from underneath it, so the weft is sandwiched in the middle.
  4. Slide the bead on over both sections and the weft.
  5. Clamp the bead closed with pliers.
  6. Repeat across the row, spacing the beads evenly.

That is the whole method. No thread, no glue, no heat. Just sections, beads, and clamps, which is exactly why it is so fast.

"Sandwich the weft, slide the bead, clamp it. It is a super fast method, and clients love that it is inexpensive."

PART TWO: Why It Is So Fast and Affordable

No sewing

Sewing is time consuming. Beaded rows skip it completely.

Fewer steps per row

You are not building a foundation and then sewing on top. The beads do both jobs at once.

Lower cost for the client

Less time in the chair means you can price it lower, which makes it a great entry point for budget-conscious clients.

Easy maintenance

As the hair grows, beads can be opened, moved back up, and clamped again.

PART THREE: Who Beaded Single Rows Are For

  • Budget-conscious clients who want extensions without a big price tag
  • First-timers who want to try a semi-permanent method
  • Clients in a hurry who do not have hours for an install
  • Clients avoiding glue and heat

Things to keep in mind

  • Beads should be the right size and color for the client's hair.
  • Sections should be even so the tension is balanced.
  • Very fine hair needs extra care to hide the beads.
  • Teach the client not to pull or tug at the beads.

BOTTOM LINE

Beaded single rows are one of the fastest and most affordable extension installs. The weft is sandwiched between sections of natural hair from above and below, the bead slides on, and you clamp it. It is my go-to recommendation when a client wants something fast and inexpensive.
